Rare WW1 Facial Prosthetic

Throughout WW1, thousands of soldiers suffered facial disfigurement and amputation. As weaponry and warfare tactics advanced, through the likes of machine guns, mustard gas and high explosive artillery shells, it resulted in an unprecedented number of severe disfiguring injuries. Never before had a conflict caused such traumatic repercussions in terms of death, and life-changing injuries.

This rare piece is made from tin (metal), and hand painted with no paint loss. It was intended to affix to give coverage for what would have been part of the left cheek and nose.
