Neolithic Arrowhead

Neolithical means ‘new stone’, and this period is sometimes called ‘The new stone age’. The duration was from around 4300 BC down to 2000 BC, some 6000 years ago.

This flint barbed and tanged arrowhead was discovered at Mildenhall - Suffolk, England. Formed in a triangular shape, with the edges sharpened during a process undertaken by a skilled craftsman. These were used as projectiles for both hunting and weaponry.

Complete within a small circular collectors display box, with glass lid from circa 1940-1950. The rear of the box is inscribed with the words ‘Mildenhall, Suffolk’.

A superb item to grace any collectors cabinet. Arrowhead measures 3cm, x 1.5cm (length x width).
