19th Century Snuff box

An unsavoury character graces the front of this box.

Snuff taking was a popular habit during the 18th and 19th Centuries, with the contents containing a mixture of ground tobacco, and scented oils. Snuff boxes ranged from being constructed from materials such as potato pulp, through to precious metals such as Silver and Gold. This box is hand-painted with this distinctive portrait of a lady screaming.

In excellent condition, with the odd minor small chip.
